Mr. Albert D. “Pat” Pattillo III grew up in San Antonio , Texas , having graduated from McArthur High School. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Texas in Austin in 1985, then obtained his Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from St. Mary’s University School of Law in San Antonio, in 1988, becoming licensed to practice law in 1989.
Mr. Pattillo began his career as an associate at the San Antonio , Texas law firm of Sawtelle, Goode, Davidson & Troilo, concentrating in the practice areas of insurance defense, lender liability and product liability. From 1989 until 1992, Mr. Pattillo served as an Assistant District Attorney in Houston, Harris County, Texas. He also served as a chief prosecutor in both County Criminal Courts at Law and Criminal District Courts. Mr. Pattillo left the District Attorney’s Office in 1993 to serve as an Assistant United States Attorney in the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Texas, Houston Division, until 1995. As a trial attorney in the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF) of the Gulf Coast Region, Mr. Pattillo was responsible for all phases of complex, multiparty federal prosecutions. Representing the United States , Mr. Pattillo also had the honor of presenting oral arguments to the Fifth Circuit United States Court of Appeals in New Orleans, La.
Mr. Pattillo moved to Kerrville in 1995 when he decided to open his own private practice of law. He has successfully written and argued several appeals in the Fourth Court of Appeals in San Antonio, Texas and in the Court of Criminal Appeals in Austin, Texas. In May, 2000, Mr. Pattillo joined in forming the firm of Pattillo, Richards & Harpold, P.C. in which he concentrates his efforts in the following legal practice areas: State and Federal General Civil and Criminal Trial Practice; Civil and Criminal Appeals; Insurance Defense; Business Transactions; Business Litigation; Wills and Probate; Estate Planning of both Large and Small Estates; Guardianships; Family Law; Title IV D Suits; Suits involving the Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Services; Advising and Participating on Nonprofit Boards of Directors; Mediation and Collaborative Law.
Mr. Pattillo is a seasoned Trial Attorney, a trained/practicing mediator and collaborative law practitioner. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas and is licensed by the Texas Supreme Court to practice law in all Texas State Courts. He is also licensed to practice before the United States Supreme Court, Fifth Circuit United States Court of Appeals and the United States District Courts for the Western, Northern and Southern Districts. Mr. Pattillo has been married to his wife, Sheri, since 1990 and, together, they love and enjoy their two children. Mr. Pattillo strives to honor and glorify his Savior and Lord Jesus Christ through the manner in which he lives and practices law in the community and elsewhere.
